In the Alto Aragón region you will find the highest peaks of the Pyrenees. They form a hard and rough landscape. The summits are covered in snow for the most part of the year. Rivers flow agitated and fast and slopes are rugged. At the foot of the mountains everything seems to be at rest. The horizon opens, mountainsides become gentler, rivers calmer and light brighter: you are in the Somontano.

Barbastro is the capital of this region in which the Natural Park of Sierra Guara is to be found.

Ham has been always present in the gastronomy and culture of this country. After all, the Somontano is a privileged area for its elaboration.

The ham factory Jamones Alto Aragón is located amidst this rich natural environment being exposed to the clean and dry airs coming from the near Pyrenees.
